"It takes a village to raise a child. It takes a child with autism to raise the awareness of that village." - Elaine Hall

On Thursday, January 2, 2025, I had the honor of meeting Valerie and her two sons, Christian and Brennan, for a photography session. Christian and Brennan are two surviving brothers of triplets, and they are autistic. They are 17 years old. The task of this mother caring for her two autistic boys is daunting, and the love is clearly felt. To photograph autistic children is to see beyond the physical manifestations of their disability, to recognize the worthiness and dignity that lives inside every young person. Christian and Brennan are two beautiful young people, coping as best they can with what they have been given. It is with compassion, empathy, and understanding that I wish this family the best as they travel their brave and challenging journey through life.
